Reloading For short barrels
Since joining the forum, I have begun to notice the shortie version of a normal hunting rifle.
It occurs to me that this might be a fun thing to have, one day.
Reading Ryan's account of his new 270, it occurred to me that I really know nothing about the specifics of reloading for short barrels.
What kind of powder do you use as a general rule, and are there any other things to take into account?
If I got a shortie, It would likely be 308/7mm08/243.
Reloading For short barrels
150gr GMX superformance factory ammo doing 2700fps out of my 16” .308.

Must add, the Winchester super x 180gr factory load only does 2250fps out of this setup.
May seem slow but zeroed at 175 yards (2MOA up from 110yrd zero/2” high at 110yrds) made it a point and shoot load out to 200yards (1 MOA/2” low), and some may say that makes it a pretty much perfect bush load.
