    I have 2 tins of 17 . need to load for 270 for a mate, was wondering o
    if I can make use of the 17 is all.

    50gr is a mild load behind a 140gr bullet (Ballistic Tip or SST) for 2850-2900 ft/sec depending on barrel length. You'll need 52gr to get 3000 ft/sec from 24" and peak pressure will be starting to get up there.
