    RL23 and 280ai 175g eldx info please

Just about to try some RL23, I have been using 2213sc, anyone got any pros or cons to share?

used to run RL22 in 280ai with the old 162AMAX - cant remember exact load but had to back off from top loads to get accuracy. Since moved to N560 and getting ~100fps more and nice tight grps. For 175gn pills I'd be looking to a slower powder like RL26 or N560.

Bugger, I’ll try the RL23 but might look at some N560. Cheers.
I’m running 162 eldm but not getting much speed out of them. 2800 out of a 24” tube with 2213sc.

I would be giving RL26 ago. I am currently loading 168gr Nosler LRAB at 3080fps with 61.2gr of RL26. Super accurate load. Only downside is brass life. Primers show no pressure signs but after 4-5 reloads the primer pockets are starting to become a little lose. This could be the cheap Remington 280 brass I fire formed so have just invested in some Peterson brass.

I’m running Peterson brass 210m and have tested up to 59.5 of 2213sc, have a few hotter loads to test in the morning. Primers we’re starting to flatten at 59.0

Sorry just checked, 59.5 is 2904, still slower than I expected with 162 eldm.

    And it’s a 26” tube not 24!

I have the same issue. I was going to try rl26 but I have 4 pounds of rl23 so would make sense to try it... it would appear it can still yield decent results.

@cameronjackwhite yep i was going to try that with the 162, but if the rifle likes the 175 I might need to try a different powder.

@robh500 any developments? I did some loads to try in my sako , mag length with 162 eldm and rl23. 58.5 up to 60 grains. All were compressed loads. Gonna try them out for groups when I get a chance

@cameronjackwhite tried some 175 eldx up to 59.0 of 2213sc at 2780 didn’t group as well as the 162 eldm with 59.5 at 2850 but still not showing pressure in either, have loaded some more of both 162 and 175 to try Monday. Still waiting on seeing a mate in about2 weeks to get some RL23 to try.
