    Safely storing powders, best practise?

I'd be interested to know what people are doing out there to prevent unintentional self incineration.

Google tells me things like this exist:

Spill Control, Dangerous Goods & Emergency - Dangerous Goods Storage - Flammable Storage Cabinet 60L

My powders used to be stored in a detached unit but now they are in the house, should I be taking extra precautions?

My old A-cat safe has become dedicated storage for powder and loaded ammunition by default.

I have often wondered if storing propellant/powder affects my insurance policy regarding fire risk.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Weird thing is you can store ammo in the house OK. I just try to buy 1 or 2 x 500g and load it all that weekend 150 ~ 200 rounds is no biggee in one go.

Those old Kelvinators are badass. Have you screwed a dirty great latch on it?

My uni mate had one that he got off his grandparents but it stopped working shortly after he got it. A couple of us that flatted together pitched in and got its guts redone, and a mates panelbeater dad prepped it and sprayed it postbox red and got the brightwork replated. It was a thing of beauty. Only lasted a few months as the neighbour chicks mad boyfriend came over drunk one night while most of us were out and smashed it up with a tent pole cos he thought she was cheating on him with one of us. Such a shame.

    Fridges

Those dangerous fridges. My old neighbour when we were kids climbed into one (Still working) and couldn't get out. His mother found him later on only just alive.
He survive that. And later got run over by a tractor. Survived that too..
