Help me spend some coin, I have a 200 budget, just got paid for a job I thought I was doing as a freebee

I was going to get a set of Hornady balance beam and a Lee powder measure set

Should I be looking at something else ?

Why don't you just borrow my stuff when you need it? It only gets used every few months.

Nothing wrong with the hornady balance beam as long as it is not a lee you will be good to go even consider getting a set of digital scales (don't get smart reloader they are crap)

Are the lee balance scales a bit poo?
What is a good cheap set of digital scales? I've seen some Hornady ones for around $70.

Last review I saw of one of those lee scales was a video clip of it being used for a centerfire target.

I've never had a problem with mine. In saying that I keep my eye out for a nice set of balance scales on trademe

my lee set where ok, but i have upgraded cause i got a good set cheap. dont bother with electronic in the $70 price bracket. the hornady are just cheaper ones rebranded im pretty sure

I think the hornady electronic scales are shite.
Cheap and electronic scales do not belong in the same sentence.

I only use my RCBS (ohaus made) balance scales for weighing powder now

I have the rcbs 510 sitting in the drawer bloody good scale it is too

I've used electronic scales before but never balance ones.

Are balance ones difficult/a pain in the arse, or are they just a tad slower yet more accurate.

the rcbs 505 is good. apparently the thing with the lee scales are they have no magnetic damping so they take ages to settle on zero. other than there ok I hear.

its hard to swallow at first. but if you add up good scales and a good powder dispenser/ thrower, a trickler. and put in a couple of hundred in you could get a rcbs chargemaster.
