    Starting on the 223.

OK, I've got many 100's of 223 cases all cleaned and prepped and it is time to start working up a load. My rifle seems to love the Hornady 55gr soft points in Hornady factory ammo, they do the job well, so I have a heap of them. I probably want to go with 2206h, but I also have BM2 and 2207 sitting there for some reason.

So anyway, I've done developments for the 243 and 7mm Rem Mag and the ADI guide is typically very conservative for those, but I haven't done anything with the little case so far. What do you reckon I should start at and what sort of increments? The ADI guide only gives a 1gr spread from 25-26 gr of 2206h.

Yup. I had the same load as 25/08 I use 65 gmk in my 223 for animals now. Same powder just not as much.

2206h is sluggish in my barrel.

12" twist, so just the lighter pills. It really loves those Hornady pills. Bolt action.

BM2 and the same projectile you like ( 25 grs from memory) at 3070 fps out of my Rem Mod 7 with 20 inch barrel. Great load shoots good also.

24.5grns 2206h behind that 55grn pill suits my rifle...... that amount of that powder behind any pill between 50-55grns suits it in fact.

Think I've got around 700 of them. Give or take.

Every rifkle will be slightly different in its preferences. With my zastava, after fixing the rubbish stock I played around with 2207, 2206h, and 2208 with that bullet. 25 gr of 2206h gave the best results accuracy wise, 2207 was most economical but less accurate, and 2208 was slowest with a full case. Ive now use the sierra 55 gr hpbt for its better terminal performance or their 52 gr smk with no complaints.
