Study on Bullet seating force with annealing vs not annealing

Would be interesting to see the end result in terms of accuracy on target as well as high quality chronograph. How much the more accurately sized brass result in performance when measured as MV SD or group size.

Cheers for the kind words, We are off to the US next week to continue the study using the seating press in conjunction with shooting at targets with chronographs.
The aim is to see how changes in seating pressure effects velocities and whether or not a consistent seating pressure vs not will yield similar results in ES.

This will become Part 5 of our study and should be published in about a month.

Welcome Matt. Since using the AMP my SD has dropped to single digit figures on my 6.5 Creedmoor and .308. Seating pressure is consistent and can this can easily be felt. You make a great product; no doubt the best annealer on the planet currently.

Love my AMP as well.

Very informative study, a LOT of hard work went into that and it deserves to be read, not just for the information it yielded.

Take home message for me is anneal before every resize, not every 5th. They showed very clearly that work hardening of the neck happens mainly from the first shot -- not gradually over five or more shots!

Also, I always thought annealing/sizing was all about what grip the case had on the bullet and the effect this has on the pressure build up etc. But this study also had some interesting pictures on effects on the cartridge neck gas seal, obviously a big effect.

Their study used an induction annealer (nice bit of kit!) and it would be interesting to see a study on the differences in effect between that and candle annealing to enable every gear junkie to properly justify such a purchase to the accountant.
