    Tikka .260

    After getting my so in-laws. 260 going it was time to sort mine out.
    Using Hodgdon superproformance powder and Hornady 143ELDX.
    Hard to beat the good old T3.

    What velocity are you getting, did you chrono it?

    It would be really interesting to see some longer range drop tests with the 143gr ELD-X. I found it performed better at 300, 400, 500, 600m than any of the ballistics apps predicted. Less drop. I had to back calculate velocity to get an accurate hold calculation. Always possible the chrono is wrong of course. Either way, great bullet in 6.5mm.

    Yea I did with new brass which was 2820fps once fired seem to be a bit faster.
    I tried the RL16 but it wasn't as good.

    Has the barrel been cut down?

    Barrel is 20" with standard DPT it does have my chrno hanging on the front of it.

    My 260 Tikka is pretty slow as well, & it has a 24" barrel....
    Overkill is underated !!!

    Yeah its frustrating when a better (more expensive) shorter barrel & smaller cartridge is faster & more accurate in the same action, compromises everywhere....

    You can't expect something worth under half as much to go as just well or better than something that's worth over twice as much....unfortunately some do....

    I think the speed I'm getting is pretty good my other one is a 18" barrel and is doing 2811fps with the 143ELDX.
    I've seen others running a 22" Bartlian that are only getting 2900fps.
