The 22 250 is an exceptionally flexible cartridge that if you wish can be loaded down to .22 or up to full noise and everything in-between. A fast twist would be ideal.

I do the see the benefits of the 22-250 suggestions and just for shits in giggles built a cheap 22 Creedmoor by rechambering a Savage 1: 9 223. It shoots well with up to 75's and worked out OK but is somewhat "clunky"compared with the dainty wee Mk V action.

The main issue with "updating" by just running a conventional reamer into a fast twist barrel is that the thoating is usually less than ideal.

And a nice light 6mm would better bridge the gap between a 223 and my heavier 6.5-284.

Why not try the 60 grain partition if you only want to go to 300 metres, save a heap of $$'s
