Oh wow, could have been worse then
@TeRei
Apologies for not responding sooner to your question due to not checking this thread often enough.
It's load development for another Zimbabwe hunt someday. I would like to use them on Cape Buff and Eland and maybe the 300 gn solids on Elephant. Of course they would be more than adequate on the smaller Plains Game animals as well.
I've been doing load development on my new old 20 gauge bore rifle
Have only made 4 cases so far
But fired them a number of times in the last few days
Have it all well sorted and shooting brilliantly
70 Grains 1 1/2 FG Black Powder
16 bore 450 grain balls because a 20 bore rifle doesn't have shotgun style forcing cones
20 gauge brass takes a 16 bore ball and is correct for this gun
Light crimp over the ball above its wide point
To the left 44-40
Middle 20 bore loaded rounds
To the right 45-70

Hey Old School, looking good.
If you are planning to load your rifle from the chargers in your photo, have a look at the link, you need to rearrange the cartridges. The rims needed to go "DUDUD" - Down Up Down Up Down

After a few weeks of working on the 223 to get it to cycle cleanly, i loaded 25x .224 66gr sierra gamehead SBT, powered by 24gr of BM2. 2900fps
I havent been out in ages, never taken the 223 out, so I'm absolutely pumped.
I will need to rezero at 50m as my balistics app says it'll be ideal for what im doing, but i may do that on the day.

First batch of 9mm Luger after load testing. Enjoying the Lee Classic 4 hole press for that.

Yes this is what my loading bench looks like at the moment :XD:
Also had a mate stop by and throw together some 300wsm and 7mm rem mag on the Rock chucker.
I made a single 56-50 Rimfire case today

To test the hammer blow location and ignition.
Went bang every time.

So I will be able to load my 1 case a number of times tomorrow when I reassemble the rifle
I loaded my one 56-50 Rimfire case three times
5 minutes between shots to wander into the workshop and reload it
No cleaning between shots so the fouling would have been cold and hard
The third shot grazed the top of the box
Typical of military rifles of it's period it shot very high at 30m and is probably about zeroed at 100m
Trigger is also typical of it's period and above 10 pounds where my scale tops out
