What media for lanolin removal

After sizing I want to dry tumble lube off. I use a lanolin alcohol mix and walnut media currently but often get cases clogged. Is corncob the go?

lanolin is just a fat. Try washing in hot soapy water. Dish washing detergent should do the trick.
I would shake it up in a plastic container.

Add a suitable solvent to your dry media when tumbling. I use Fuelite camp stove fuel however meths would also work. I just dribble in enough several tablespoons probably. I use the same type of sizing lube and do this every time I reload.

Can you use a different sizing lube? I use Hornady One Shot and tumble in walnut media for 10 minutes after sizing to remove lube from body of cases. Retains some carbon in the necks and helps with bullet seating and neck tension.

I leave it on until round is loaded. On Pistol ammo I se Dillon lanolin based lube and don't bother removing it, makes no diff that I can tell. I'm also judicious with how much I use. With Pistol calibre rifle loads I use a cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Again probably makes no diff but I'm in the habit of ensuring no lube on rifle cases. For bottleneck rifle cases I don't use lanolin based lube. Far prefer Mr Lees stuff in a tube. I ALWAYS wipe off a new rifle round with cloth and isopropyl alcohol to ensure the brass grips the chamber walls properly when fired. Rear locking 303B rifles bolts rely on this gripping to reduce bolt flex and wear. Mauser actions benefit from it when at or near max loads- from my reading research rather than personal testing I hasten to add. Might be the difference between ejector swipe mark and unmarked brass in hot loads.

Cheers for the reply’s. I’m sizing up to 500 rifle cases in a session and am aiming for absolute precision so cases must be lube free. I’m not willing to sit down and rub 500 cases and they need to be dry internally. Thus why I need tumbling media. I’ll try corn cob and see how it goes.

I used to wash lanolin lube off with solvent - wax and grease remover from Mitre10. Have now moved to One Shot and just give the outside of the case a cursory wipe with a rag while watching TV.
