Obviously they were not using a .270 as I believe it they were then a near miss is as good as a direct hit.........................or so I have been lead to believe :D :DQuote:

That copper looks pretty shiny, surely the metal would begin to oxidise being out in the weather / blood on it. Wound looks fresh with no infection (bit hard to tell with the hair in the way)
As for tumbling, wouldn't hitting bone cause it to change trajectory / wound path
