Shot this brass off about 12 months ago.
Has been stored in airtight ammo tin.
It's gone black!
Doesn't rub off and no residue in the can.
All my brass is stored in same army ammo tins and never had an issue.
Anyone have any ideas ?Attachment 3439

The high sulphur content in one of your components has given you a nice black tarnish. Especially as it was airtight and allowed the sulphur to do its work over a long period of time.
Ammonia would have given you a greenish blue tinge.
Time to put one of your brass cleaners to work !!!
its too early to be on the forum, im off to bed
2206H was the powder used
I dont get that with any other brass that's stored that 06H has been used in ...
Perhaps the air trapped in that partictular container was more humid than the rest, allowing the sulphur to do its job easier.
Just spoke to my sister in Cairo using viber on the iphone, she said theres a huge white owl on her washing line.
I know bugger all about this but I would say they were wet or at least damp....bugger.
They look like they had been lying in wet grass & were picked up.
They will be a bugger to clean....
I would agree with some dampness in the brass when stored. Penalty for being a brass whore?
Spanners probably drunk far to many beers, got wasted and pissed in the bucket :yaeh am not durnk:
Maybe was damp when stashed.
Gave them a good rinse last night - yeah - not going to wash off haha
Tactical non shiny brass. Line up to buy it!
Lucky it wasn't more that's fucked I spose
Would be a good test for the STM tumbler

Spanners list it all on trademe as camo brass. Some camo mad dick head is bound to pay twice the normal price for it.
And make sure you use the word "tactical" about four times in the auction.
You got a STM DAF?
I'm building a super tumbler
I've had that happen to wet/damp brass
