Cyanide license-CSL and AHC for vertebrae toxic, possums.

Hi, has anyone been through the process of getting this recently?

Got the EPA forms (from Asure quality)

Asure quality's verbal info, was I need to do work experience first.

EPA's email response was non-committal-almost like a lazy lawyer, was my first thought. Am sure they try their best.

Can't see anything in the legislation on line.

My question is-why can't I sign it in front of a JP as an oath? (legal one-not a rude one ), to say I have a legitimate need for this-enclosed is my 1 page business plan summary.

Any ideas? original thought was only had to do 1 day course/test to exhibit knowledge of use and possible issues, sign to say I was going be legal with it, and for EPA to check I wasn't guy fawkes,mr asia, or had screws loose.

If you have a business case with real need then that should be sufficient. I had no work experience with toxins (but got training etc as part of it) when I got mine but that was fine as my employer was saying that I would need it to do my job. However I guess if you are setting yourself up you may not yet have evidence of need which is what they want

When I was gamekeeping, all that was required to buy Cymag was a signature and payment. I can't recall any murders or fatal accidents with it.

Myself and many others had a lifetime Cyanide Licence. I used mine every winter. We all woke up one morning to find they had all been revoked.

Never heard of a tube of cyanide being used as a murder weapon.

Seems bloody stupid when you need a license and secure facilities to handle/store/transport 1080 and yet you can fly around dropping it out of an aircraft where it can be picked up by anyone including kids

And then some of us could see the writing on the wall and rather than jump through a series of hoops set impossibly high to get a new Cyanide Licence after using it for much of our working life,we got out of the pesticide game and invested instead in a lot of traps.

Well a couple of years went by they made those illegal to use too.

I don't know of any other workforce in the country that has had the tools of trade removed in such a ruthless way.

But off course, the penny dropped, late for some, we had to be got out of the Forest to make way for the massive carpet bombing of green rain that followed,
