It does look like a bumper season for rabbits with a reasonably mild winter. I hosted a mate down from the NI last week and hit a few stations and farms for some casual shooting.
On one afternoon we started shooting around 5pm and finished at 8.30 and had shot around 220 rabbits.
That in itself is pretty good going however whats more impressive is that we never moved from one average sized gully, in fact we never took a step once we were set up.
Walking back to the car there were dozen and dozens of tiny rabbits running everywhere.
I think the 17 HMR and .22 will be working hard this summer.
