Been doing it way before you were born, and I'm sure they haven't grown any bigger.
:D:D:D Been a while since i done it but i pretty much just plucked the back and down the outsides, couldnt be Buggered trying to pluck round the belly and inside legs for Bugger all.

When I set some traps last I had quite a few that had been set off but only had a piece of fur left in them is there a way to stop or minimize this
pretty difficult to know without seeing how you set your traps, I used to have mine a hands width from the tree, and the chain side to the tree, start the flour bait about 15 inches off the ground above the trap, other than that I have no secret method. Out of probably 100 traps I might have had 3-4 sprung with no possum.
Cheers that for that oneshot I've been starting my flour about a hammers length above the trap I'll try moving them out from the tree this weekend and see how I get on
