One of two ferals last night, 5 hares and 5 possums... This one thinking about its options... .17 HMR does the business.

Hares with Size 9 for ref - exit hole was astonishing on the other side, for a .17 cal proj!

    Good work.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Been a while, and the cat was out of food. She also likes a good hunt, especially when she only does the retrieval.
Possum munching away on the Feijoa when we were heading out, so nabbed that too.

Nice little shoot tonight - last time I went to this site near Chch was a few weeks back with Brian (Gadgetman). Tonight the team members who've been selling all his gear for the family all went there together. A few quiet and thoughtful moments, but delightful shooting for the rimfires and we popped 55 in bit over 2 hours. Marlin 795SS (which @Barefoot is buying), and mate's 17HMR did the business.

A special outing. A mate is gone but tonight our team is carrying on, and will do well. What he'd want..

Like hell, he can stick with the bolt action.
I have a plan for this toy, which may include a raid on your range - for testing purposes only of course.
