Yes please keep us posted @KarakaB. If this proceeds through to police action and some form of punishment, be it diversion or an actual conviction ( probably unlikely for a first offence), then I would very much like to hear about it. This is a problem that a lot of us have experienced at one time or another, and I would like to be able to talk about it with my landowners based on actual facts and outcomes, rather than what we believe should or should not happen.
@Flyblown exactly, I have spent a bit of time getting permission from landowners, some areas I'm the only one allowed there yet I find boot prints and droped hunting items occasionally...

Yes, they've shot deer here. Interested in the collective trespass setup. Presumably this can be done through the police. Any hints, please?
Talk to the police, if you get caught in the forestry around here you get a blanket trespassed from most for couple years. You dont have to shoot a animal to be prosecuted. Still trespassing with a firearm so bye bye license but you need evidence. Like photos etc
If you google the NZ trespass Act there is a fair bit of straight forward reading that explains the process. It is very simple in that the person is served the notice which lists the property address and must stay off the property(ies) for two years.Quote:

Collective trespass notices simply need to ensure all the parties (landholders) have signed up to some sort of collective agreement.
Pubs in certain areas do it quite often, as do shopping malls
