    1st Tahr

First up cheers to @Mooseman and @257weatherby for the info on my plan A
, but due to the weather last week couldn't make it in there , hopefully i can get up there next month if doc hasn't wiped them out .

So headed to plan b ,a bit more local.

Beep beep beep the alarm clock sounded, 3am and rain pouring down on roof but quickly remembered no milking for me this am and quickly got out of bed ,

With the ute all loaded with gear ect. the night before it was a quick coffee and a bowl full of weetbix and i was on the road ,

Two hours later was at the bros to pick him up and another coffee and another hour drive we were finally on the hill .

Wasn't looking promising as it was patchy drizzle and the fog was as thick as sage ,
But once we got out past the front faces it was clear as , amazing when its like that .

After hiking along a top ridge and stopping to glass down guts ect.
We had just sat down to glass down another buffy gut ,
then i smelt something funky, bare in mind this is the 1st time ive got to look for tahr , couldn't put my finger on what the smell was , but a definitely a animal like a cross between boar , stag , and goat ?? Anyway went down bluff for a better sniff i spose and seen a heap of small droppings like id never seen before either ,
they were fresh and im no bloody rocket scientist but said to the bro , must be tahr sign and they're CLOSE !

And sure enough after carefully carrying on along the ridge top we looked down to a saddle and bugger me there they were, a good mob of at least 20 right on the grassy saddle grazing, sleeping or playing ,
We quickly closed the gap to about 150m before tussocks thinned out and ran out of cover and got into good shooting position .

I lined up a nice looking close 1 , was spoilt for choice !
    BOOM!! ....... THWACK !!!
then all hell broke loose tahr running left right and center , shot felt good but in the commotion could tell which 1 was my target .

Watched them run off in binos about 200m then one dropped , phew !

Yeeha 1st tahr , got down there was a nice nanny , no big trophy but may as well be to me !

Gutt and big carry out whole ! Seen a couple more groups on way out where fog had cleared as well ,Bloody awsome day just wish id had a proper camera to get some good photos .
