So, just to ask the question what is considered the best bullet to run in a 1-8 twist restricted mag length .223 rifle, is it still the 65 grain gameking or have others surpased it?
I'm trying to get to heaven before they shut the door.

For big heavy stags yes, otherwise use the 55g Gameking code #1365

Here’s some of the kills this year so far with the 223. Mostly shot off the walking poles as the terrain wasn’t prone friendly. Have been liking using the 73gr , 75gr A-max and ELD-m and 80gr ELD-m. Sound wise the 80 grainers hit harder and only .2 of a Mil in scope adjustment zeros to the 75 grainers.

180m head shot 75gr A-max on a spiker , entrance is in the ear on the opposite side.

Fallow spiker 240m 75gr A-max, double lung and exit bang flop.

Hind at 160m 80gr ELD-M, lung shot run 15m then rolled another 20m

Spiker step high angle shot at 440m shooting off walking sticks 80gr ELD-M, instant death and falling over a bluff then rolling to the valley floor.

Another hight angle stag 380m 75gr ELD-M, broadside shot, stag hit low lung and high exit then run 30m and stopped gave him another shot 40mm from the first shot tipping him over rolling down to the valley floor. He was probably dead from the first shot but don’t like runners if I can get another in.

90m neck shot off walking sticks, 75gr A-Max

Bush stalking 15m 75gr A-max straight on chest shot, only run 15m/20m and died.

    330m with a 80gr ELD-M run 30m

Was first light camped up in the bush cooking bacon and sausage for breakfast a old girl hind was barking at us from the other side of the creek 35m away and didn’t run off. Enough time to turn the gas off grab the rifle and drill her on the spot double lung with a 80gr ELD-m.

Standard Tikka T3x but had the chamber long throated to run the 80 grainers and Waterman magazines. Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50 for glass.
