    40 years apart coincidence

And here's me. 40 years ago. Deer in same spot, shot from the same place. (Ignore the extra pic on the notttom)

    Thats awesome!
It would be really interesting to have a lost of all the gear your were wearing and using 40 years ago vs the list from now!
Just to see the advances in gear, and rifles

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

The cool thing is that I hunted there, had taken my Craig there, and then Craig put his James onto there. 3 generations. And then when James sent me the pic I straight away had that feeling of deja vu and dived into my old pics. We then compared notes about where exactly we shot from and where the deer was. Google confirmed it.

Exactly. I did think that, that the deer would have been related.

Really, 40 years wasn't that long ago. Rifle was .243 Ruger with a leupold vx2 3-9. Huntech canvas bag. Early version polly top, likely huntech. And polly track pants. I just looked up that Huntech's first year of production was 1988 so it might have been 1989/90

It's a bit uncanny really eh? Same block, yeah, reasonably likely, same catchment - was taught well but same spot (almost to the metre comparing the pictures) that's uncanny....and very cool

Thats special Bruce , To see your grandson following his fathers and grandfathers footsteps and being successful must give you a lot of satisfaction and pride , for you are the one that showed them the ropes and gave them the skill and encouragement which has made them the hunters they are today .

I also have fond memories of Pohangina Saddle ( Silver City ) , first went there in 1965 aged16
