They actually are not bad eating but here most people use them for dog tucker.

You wouldnt believe the crap you have to go through to be be able to shoot them though, have to have a DEPI idiot come out (equivalent to your DOC) to assess the damage they're causing and then you're given a permit to remove them if they're deemed a bad enough problem. Problem is, people who are employed by DEPI are the city people, some of whom have never seen a roo in the wild before working there that have book smarts but no common sense. I was dealing with a farmer just last week who had one inspect his property and didnt want to give him a permit for any despite him showing her the damage and droppings, when he said "but I've got 300 eating my crop" she said "well there aren't any out here now so I don't think its a bad enough problem" to which he replied "thats because its fucking midday!" True story haha

Legally you also have to use a bigger calibre on roos than you do on buffalo, go figure!

Do we have the DEPI over West BH? I’m just told to shoot them, seems to be plenty around. It’s a fox that I’m having a hard time finding.

I’ve found the old Roo can go a long way even with a well-placed chest shot from a 223. Quickest way I’ve found is to drill them through the wheels if you don’t fancy a game of hide and seek.

P.S It must be tough for an Auzzie bloke going hand to hand with a grunting girlfriend that can’t push back. It’s the best bit mate.
