Good luck getting your license, current police estimates are 12 months but sounds like it varies by region/district with some being much quicker.
If it does take a year, at least your pup will be ready to go when you are!
You could try contacting the Te Kuiti Pighunting club, they have a lot of members (well, they did when I was a member) so probably quite a few litters born each year. If you can't find a contact number/email on Google I can point you towards a contact.
