Ive owned and sold T3's in 308 & 7mm RM, both shot well but I hated em as a bush gun, Those friggen plastic stocks are horrible when ya hands are wet'n'muddy. I dropped that 308 untold times.
And now I just brought another T3 ( well its a custom jobbie ) but still a T3 action and yes it has one of those lovely plastic stocks, but its a Varmint rifle so I'll live with it and it ( like most Tikkas ) shoots mint, so I do have a little love/hate relationship with T3's lol
Ive also had a Weatherby Vangard in 243 ( shot ok but was bloody heavy ) & a Marlin XS7 in 308 ( was a great cheap bush hack ) and their "acutrigger" system worked well for a bush rifle.
Its a good time good to buy a rifle at the mo as there's half a dozen or so good rifles in that 1200 price range, just find one that fits ya & put a semi decent scope & rings and your'e away![]()
