Anyone been out for a tahr yet?

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone’s been out for a tahr hunt since level 2? what were numbers like Still a few around or has the “tahr control plan” made a huge dent in population. Cheers

Yup and nope. Thar numbers havent seemed to be affected where I go. I even seen 8 chams and 3 deer this trip. Do not normally see them in where I was. First group of chamois were feeding 10m away from 2 bulls. They dont normally hang out that close.

Didnt see any mature chamois bucks but seen plenty of bulls at the 13 or over mark.
Seen one absolute monster when I bumped him with in 10m mooching around in the scrub along a creek below my camp.

Depending on where you're going I suspect it will be bit better hunting then. I only seen 1 bull holding nannies. All the rest were still in small batchelor groups or young bulls roaming around looking for mates.

Yip and yip. Went out last weekend and a mate shot a 12" bull with a nice cape. Seen around 4-5 bulls and a heap of nannies. No deer though sadly.

There were 4 of them together that were all good ones. Only 500ish yrds away from where I was. I seen the same group in the summer and they haven't moved far.
