That's a lovely knife. The pukko geometry is what the bahcos are essentially, and heaps of people use them without complaint. there is no finger guard, but unless your using it to stick pigs I dont see it being a problem

I made a pig sticker with much the same handle, haha. Stuck half a dozen then retired it.

I have 4 or 5 of them. That and an opinel nb8 drop point is all I use.

You could build your own pukko:

All those with dogs waiting no longer fear death. Those with many dogs waiting even welcome it in it's time.

Sorry for the hijack but after a look around the site I saw this. What is meant by "make your own finish"? Is that the handle or the blade? Never had anything to do with knife making but this looks a nice entry and I need a new kitchen knife.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

It refers to the final finishing of the handle as the blade appears to be good to go

I have used one on small game and deer, it depends on the thickness on the blade as to its abilitys to bone out

Prefer something with a longer blade (than 10cm) for boning myself.
