Thread: Areas to take a young 'un

Aiming to take my 9 yr old on a hunt on Mother's Day weekend.
Mid May ish I think. Hopefully after alot of people are out of the bush after the roar. Last time I paid for a private block it almost bankrupt me, but we were guaranteed a deer (his first). Which he got , so we were happy. This time however, I will be limited to public land I think.
My question is, not asking for anyone's spot X but suggestions on a not too overwhelming spot where we might even just see one ( goat , deer , not too fussed) , let alone shoot one. Just so he's not too disappointed...
I considered Clements Mill, Kaimais, Pureora, or Hapuakohe Range... Not sure if any of those would be appropriate.
Ive been enquiring with local land owners but no luck yet.
Suggestions welcome. We are in North Waikato.
