Thread: An Australian wants to hunt in New Zealand

Hi,

I am very eager to go on a hunting/fishing/trapping trek through New Zealand. The region I have been looking at is the Mt Aspiring National Park, north west of Lake Wanaka on the Southern Island. I have my own rifles which I would like to bring, a South Australian firearms license, and experience in hunting and trekking.

My real question is in regards to attaining the permits/licenses needed for me to be able to embark on my desired trek. If anyone (especially someone with past experience who has done what I am keen to do) has any advice/knowledge they may impart on me it would be greatly appreciated.
