Rossi 44mag done:)
BOOM
Never used a 44 , but a 30/30 is worth looking at ,Open sights still smack a deer or pig out to 150 .
44 mag I shot 354 pigs in 7 months with win 94, 10 in mag 1 up the spout for those big mobs.
Marlin 3030 was mine - a handy little shooter. I'm sad I sold it.
Mate runs a rossi single shot in 357mag cut down to i would guess probably not legal and uses mag and 38 special. 38s very quiet but not much knock down.
Can run 44 special in 44mag?

Head shot two 100lb'ers on Saturday (215 & 235 meters) zero wastage and no chews!
hi cheers guys so what would be the best if i carnt get a gun suppressed cheers
.44mag or .410 shotty with slugs?
If you cant suppress(tho can't see why other than funds ) 44 mag with specials or 357mag with 38 specials. But then its pretty much a bail gun only. But you can always have some magnum in ya pocket .

Ruger m77/44 they are a great little gun to use knocked a few pigs over with one now
quentin
What sort of country do you hunt, and do you hunt pine permits, most only allow a shotgun, so a break open cut down 410 that slips into a pack would be the ticket, keep it legal
I have a cut down 12g nice and light that i should start using again, sick of the heavy 30-30 i cant wear it on my back in any of the shit i hunt it gets hooked up on everything, even when in hand, i should get a 410 but cant justify having a 3rd pig gun
410( i think you can fire a 45 colt from it, ask an expert first though ), or a 357 would be my pick
12g shotty, slugs for the bail up and buckshot when waiting on the crossing tracks. When it's broken you always know it's safe. Also liked the 3o3 Jungle carbine, small and you could lock the bolt on an empty chamber, handy when getting thru the tight stuff.
I took about 200mm off it, it is still well over 900mm, just enough to sit under my shoulder and not hook up on stuff
I have only shot 3 pigs ever, the svord does the bulk of the work, did blow a good jaw up shooting one from above into the base of its neck, so went to shop and asked for most gutless slugs they had, so for me its a backup gun not a bail gun
Pig in tomo= loud haha
