Beyond all doubt - James Dodds Prime TV story on YouTube

    Hi,

For those who missed it I've uploaded this story to YouTube

    James Dodds - A mate's tragic mistake - YouTube

Personally I think Gabrielle Molloy is an awesome woman for putting this out there for the benefit of everyone. God knows how many times I've read on here that "I'm OK because I make 100% sure".

The problem is you can be 110% sure, belief beyond all doubt, and still be wrong.

There's still a lot more that can be done in understanding this brain stuff - cognitive filtering, scenario construction, expectations fulfillment etc. and techniques to combat "We see what we believe".

In my view, there's more to it than just saying "he stuffed up".

Anyway, if you haven't seen this programme I'd recommend a squiz. Mightn't stay there long if Prime request a takedown Sad

    Regards

    Richard

Saw the story last night. Huge respect for the bravery shown by Gabrielle to bring the matter to public attention so we can all learn and hopefully benefit.

You're welcome. Important to get out there.

BTW, I have no financial interest in this but I am very interested in 'human factors' originally from preventing aviation accidents. Some c0ck on fishnhunt is accusing me of being a commercial tout presumably because I've made the three related posts together. May have been drinking :-)

Please don't encourage him. He's leaped to a conclusion and that's that.

This thread here bud this on2it clown started pushing his hunter safety gadget on two forums within minutes of each other. No commercial interest yet right and pigs fly.
This has been thrashed extensively and the downshot of it is these gadgets would kill more people than they would save with the current media climate these wood worms come out to the light of day to earn a dollar on other peoples fear and emotions As M'cBeth said "Be gone dark spot"

    You're so sure of yourself.

Actually the reason for posting in both forums is because I know Prime will issue a takedown notice on YouTube and wanted to share it as widely as I could. Lots of people post "it won't happen to me 'cos I'm 100% sure" and Worsp also believes he was 100% sure and there are parallels with aviation human factors research.

    Kind Regards

    Richard

Its all good guys No Knicker twisting needed. we are all on an open forum where we can share our Thoughts the great thing is we can make up our own minds. it is healthy to have a debate. back in 07 when another hunter was killed that same coroner made recomendations to look into such technology and feels had his concerns been implemented in 07 that James Dodds may have been saved along with other hunters. Why when it happens all to often and the coroner makes recomendations for changes nothing gets done.
