Bit Of A Hunt In Queensland

Just back from a week in South Queensland , chasing rusa and other targets of opportunity.

Son Matthew got to be the shooter , I have done this trip several times before so I was the cameraman.

Saw many rusa stags , from spikers to magnificent big boys. Also bagged a handfull of pigs , and almost - but not quite - a dingo.

    Heres a couple of pics.

    Bloody good
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

how does it work for hunting in Aus ? can you take your own rifle ? do you need permits ? I have cuz over there who recently moved out into the bush - he's not a hunter but he tells me there's plenty of deer and big heads around his area. I might have to check it out !

33.1/2 already ! aussie game management is streaks ahead of us and any body else. having hunted both aussie and new caledonia , i thought the aussie rusa had better tynes ,heavier timber and were wider. but just lacked that overall average length that the new cal stuff had.back then i thought aussie would catch up and over take new cal in about ten years, but it looks like there already there.
    chainsaw.
as for taking guns to aussie , i wouldnt bother. it might be one of the hardest places to get a gun licence, but easiest to get a gun ! and there customs and immigration people are just arseholes. just borrow somebody's it will be less grief.
