British Hunter/Shooter looking to work in exchange for accomodation

    Hello NZHS.

My names Josh, I'm a British guy exploring NZ on my own

I was wondering if anyone around the north Island (I can get a bus) would be interested in having me work on their farm/ranch/land etc in return for accommodation/food and the chance to do abit of shooting with you.

I did this in the Australian Outback for two station holders (can provide references) so have basic skills with livestock, sheep, goats, fencing, general DIY. I can ride a motorbike. Shooting wise, been hunting for 10+ years, proficient with everything upto .308 - very safe and responsible shooter.

This could be for a few days, a week, two weeks. I'm very open minded. Just thought I'd ask and see if anyone wanted a hand.

Thanks all and a very Merry Christmas. Josh

    Good on ya Josh

I'm sure someone may be able to help you out.

Let us know if your passing through Hawkes Bay, might be able to help you out with a hunt at least.

    Cheers

Hi Carl, Thanks! Sorry for the slow response, been without internet. Got somewhere lined up for a few weeks but I'll make sure to give you a call after the new year. Happy to help out in exchange for being put up!

So I've ended up working for a guided hunt in Napier for a couple of weeks - And i got my first NZ Deer!! A sika stag taken at 450 yards using .300 win mag! However I'm still looking for more opportunities when this ends and am having a few chats with other people who have posted here and got in touch with me via. Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all, and good huntin'!!

If you end up in Nelson I know a vineyard that offers accommodation in return for labour, Woofer style. He is a good bugger, hunts, fishes etc. too

Hi Josh I'm in the U.K. Will ask my old man if he has any contacts that need a hand.
    He's just out of Morinsvllie.
