"Blood spilled unjustly cries from the ground like a voice calling out for revenge"
I often wonder about this saying when I get bad vibes in a certain location.
I once got really bad vibes from one spot up in the old waiuta mines.
I found out later from someone with local knowledge that there once stood a hospital on that ground that had horrific stories about brutal treatment and ruthless methods of "forced" abortions...
I've heard many a story from family that grew up in reefton and worked in the mines of 'cursed land'
Easy to write off as stories, but you always do wonder when you get unsettling feelings or experiences.

I think it comes down to whether you believe in an afterlife, souls etc. If you do, then why not? Absolutely anything is possible. I don't subscribe to that way of thinking.

Also speaking of weirdo spots, has anyone stumbled across the black lodge in the Tauherenikau valley just near Tutewai? (sp?)

A rock bordered path leading to a structure made of manuka poles studded with symbols of semi-pagan/ black magic - it had no feel to it but someone had made it to try to freak people out, pity the vibe was dull as dishwater but points for trying, I guess
I know the one. About 1km upstream from the hut?. It’s been there for at least 10 years. In its early days it was just an honest frame for a shelter, albeit novel in construction by today’s standards. I think the symbols and rock path etc were the work of later visitors.

I guess I'm the biggest sceptic of all time. I was living in the marlborough sounds some 3 years ago & my neighbours were kinda weird, sometimes aggressive types. We were boat access only & one morning I met a couple & their dogs who had just lobbed in for a look see & quick walk. They had never been there before. I chatted down on the waterfront track to the guy..nice pleasant fellow. Soon his wife arrived with their dogs. Greetings were exchanged & we casually chatted in the morning sun. I was fairly new at this time & was clearing my section & building a shed. As we chatted about my last few months there I invited them to come have a look. At that point we could have crossed through a corner of my neighbours place or walked around the track to mine. I turned to cut across the neighbours & the woman said I'm not going through there!! I looked at her & she plain out said there's a really bad vibe coming out of that place. Now at that point I had said nothing about my next door pals. I was astounded!! So...obviously some of us do have a higher sense when it comes to these things..it certainly opened my eyes.

When old mate brother in law passed a few years ago we duly spread his ashes on the Coast in a family spot, it was a calm sunny day...blue sky and no breeze whatsoever...as we took turns 'sprinkling' him this huge gust of wind came out of no where for 3 seconds then dead still again.

2nd thing was his service was videod for those that couldn't be there, we received a link to the video a few days later but wifey & I chose to wait a week or two before we watched it as things were pretty raw still. Anyhow one quiet Saturday avo we decided we were ready to watch it so not wanting to be disturbed we shut the windows and the door and hit the play button. True story but within 20 seconds we had at least a dozen birds swirling around in the driveway outside the lounge window, just like one of those twirly wind tunnels and they were ducking & diving around each other, we were watching them thinking FARK!....then a blackbird actually landed on the sliding door aluminium and was looking at us inside through the glass. Then they were gone.

We're both believers in that sort of thing so didn't worry us, was just a certain someone letting us know he's still around.

.... wainakarua is actually one of the places that it's happened the most to me. Which is puzzling because as far as I'm aware there's no "history" or anything exciting happened in the past. You aware of any local stories?

Mates daughter "sees" dead folk. Im not going to disparage it - might be true , might not .

I think it depends on how your inner self is wired. Im not so much a believer in ghosts but then Im not a believer in gods or religious spirits either .

There is a Revolutionary War tower in Bioston in the USA that you can climb. I got maybe a quarter of the way up the stairs and was overcome with an overwhelming feeling of dread, so I left. Dunno what it was , but it was real and I needed to not be there . Outside was fine - wife and kid both climbed to the top with no issues so....

Sounds like the Tower of London, place is drenched in spilled blood, in the busy bits I didn't feel anything, just another museum but walking into quiet area's there was a background "feel", in one particular room, there was a lot of graffiti, names from hundreds of years ago carved into the stonework of those who had been imprisoned in the tower, put my hand out to them and my fingers and palm felt "electrified" for want of a better word, took my hand away and the sensation ceased. I think significant events leave an imprint that some of us are susceptible to picking up on.

This topic is skating on the edge of Religion, so I'll try and be discrete.

Casper145, no, you're not the only one.

Yes, the vibes you feel are real. No, they're likely not your imagination. Some stuff exists that can't be measured, or proved empirically.

I have a totally unproven theory about this topic. For whatever it's worth, here it is:
In every 100 people, 99% don't experience vibes much, or if they do, it's low key. The other 1% get pretty much the full blast of it , whether they want it or not.

    When it happens to me:
At the quiet end of the spectrum I experience this as mild agitation.

At the busy end, a whole body sense of torment. Great agitation, hair standing on end, and a feeling like someone has pressed a block of ice hard against one or other side of my face.

Incidentally, women tend to be much more switched on to this sort of stuff than men do. If you have a nearest and dearest, maybe ask her about it.

Personally, I wouldn't describe the troubled feelings that I get from time to time as ghosts. To me they go by another name, but again, if I describe them, I tip this over into religion.

Over time and after considerable exposure to it, much to my surprise, I've gotten used to it. I'm a lot harder to intimidate in this way than I used to be.

Anybody with questions, hit me up on PM.

So can you people who are affected by this divine water?
I can't, and have been told by people in that "spectrum" that I don't have what it takes. But there's other stuff goes on that makes me curious.

Mate and crewman delivered a boat from Dunedin to Whangamata. First stop Lyttleton, then to Napier then final leg home. Boat mostly in autopilot with one man in watch. During second leg the seas were horrendous. Each of them reckoned they witnessed an oilskin clad, sou’wester wearing figure standing in the deck. Figure supposedly assured them ‘it’s all right’.

Not quite sure what you're wanting to say in your first line.

But for the rest of it, yeah, some people just aren't wired for it. But they generally dont "feel a great disturbance in the force". So less wear and tear on the soul.
