Thread: Canterbury foothills in summer.

Hey all

My wife is keen to come along for an overnight hunt with me this week.
I have had some luck up Mt Thomas and Mt Oxford but am not sure about heading up there with the tramping traffic at this time of the year..
Have been up Richardson a couple of times and it’s been a Barron wasteland.
Any suggestions within 2 hrs of chch and not a marathon walk?
Will be camping just below bushline wherever we end up.

Get a wee bit off the track and the trampers won't worry you. Plenty of grass and deer up high at the moment. Just find a good glassing point and let the bino's do the work.
