I notice forest and bird aren't offering to pony up any money for pest control if the wapiti foundation can't do it.
So long as twig and tweet will pay to get rid of all introduced birds. Good luck to them getting rid of sparrows, blackbirds, starlings etc

In her letter to Prime in August, Forest & Bird’s chief executive Nicola Toki said it would be writing to UNESCO’s world heritage committee over concerns about the Crown’s management of browsing pests in Fiordland National Park, part of the Te Wāhipounamu world heritage area.

If Twigs and Twitters get away with this sort of BS, then there aint gonna be too many places they will be welcome. I certainly wouldnt welcome them around my campfire. The old saying "cutting ones nose of to spite your face" comes to mind.
And should Twigs and Twitters be successful, then Fiordland will never be in such good stead as it is now. DoC cant afford it, and T&T are too fucking miserable to front up with the money required. They will probably go crying to Joe public, or the government coffers, to front up with the coin to achieve what the FWF is achieving now, free of charge and hunter funded.
Well the UN in any form is totally farkn useless, so writing to UN (esco) might make twigg n tweet feel virtuous but won’t get them diddly squat.

I honestly don't understand Forest and Birds reasoning. Seems like anytime they see something constructive being done for conservation in NZ, that is associated with hunters, the only goal is to shut it down.
No thoughts about discussions with the FWF, around where they would like to see improvements, and how they could assist.

Yup, just imagine if T&T actually fronted up to the FWF and said "youre doing a great job with reducing numbers of deer and running the predator traplines - how can we help, lets join forces for the betterment of Fiordland" But no, they continue on with their anti hunter, anti hunting rhetoric and to hell with the positive outcomes.Quote:

Forest & Bird have always been anti hunting/hunters and can’t stand that FWF are doing something that works at no cost to the taxpayer. F&B were the only group that objected to Rakiura Hunter Camp Trust being granted a concession to build and manage huts for hunters on Stewart Island. Like I said, anti hunter.
