    Yeah I saw a chewed up shearwater - we were still a couple of kms out from the reserve boundary. Can't see many rec hunters venturing up that way and some of the slopes in the catchment towards where the birds nest looked too steep to be able to recover the deer from so heli culls would be the only way to keep numbers down.
