I sent them a wee note that their latest comm's wasn't that clear if they had cancelled all pre-existing permits... and only told us they were suspended... this wasn't clear? and that there was a information gap that needed bridging...

There was only a message saying:
Hunting on public conservation land will be allowed once New Zealand has returned to COVID-19 Alert Level 2. Hunters will need the appropriate hunting permit or hold the required concession and abide by Ministry of Health guidelines.
Recreational hunters can apply online for a hunting permit from 5:00pm Tuesday 12 May. Permits will be valid once New Zealand returns to Alert Level 2 at 11.59am Wednesday evening. Hunters should first check their existing permit as it may still be current.

    Hmmmm

@Carpe Diem Scroll down to under Level 3 and it says current permits are suspended under level 3.

Pretty sure my own "Open permit" is still valid so I'll be into it on Friday morning!

For those who hunt the Blue Mountains in Otago; sounds like there maybe some issue with access via Ernslaw lock gate system (cleaning gate surfaces etc) that will need sorting out before DOC will issue permits....

Edwards valley here still not opening though, or at least DoC haven't released any gate codes yet.

Now you've got me imagining 10 people trying to squeeze into the 2-bunk huts in the Takitimus! Funny mental image.
