The walking access map system used to have heaps on info, including hunting plus all the grass roads, 4wd tracks etc but at monment it's not showing that info (for me or my computer anyway!)

If its the wams you talking about then be aware there are multiple maps and if the hunting one is not selected you have little info.

I like to carry a paper copy I case my phone dies. On phone I try to save the permit as a proper pdf file so it will be easily available without reception. Straightforward on android but not on iPhone. I agree the maps are very frustrating. They are actually more useful to have on phone than the permit. Various gps and apps and sites like wams show boundaries but it's better to refer to the one that came through your current permit

Bumped into doc rangers quite a few times. Never had my permit checked, they were generally more interested in having a yarn and giving some tips about the area.
    Top fellas/fellarettes in my experience

I also keep email on phone. But pretty sure you are required to have a physical copy anyway.

Actually I just checked it and all it says is ..."must be produced on demand to any warranted officer or enforcement officer..."

Doesn't actually state in what form it is produced.

Same here. Just thought it was worded somewhere about having to have a physical copy

This thread has stayed pretty serious hasn't it ?
Suppose the permits came with every second page a sight in target marked in moa or cm and rings sized for 25 100 and 200m on it ? That would improve compliance with carrying paper copies at all times, if DoC ever wanted that. Does anyone remember when 22 ammo boxes folded out and a "standard target" was printed on the inside ? They were 100% biodegradable too.
(Do not try this on your phone).

Might encourage people to do their sighting in out in the bush?

Isn’t that where you do it? On the straightest bit of track, preferably with a sign of some sort to aim at?

I carry paper copy, only ever used it once, when I got caught out without t-paper. Doubt if DoC would want to see it after that.

It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.
