    DOC need our age

    Why do we need to give our D.O.B. when applying for a hunting permit on line? Is this new? Didn't need this info when got permits for West Coast last year.

    Whats the problem? They ask for your address too....get a life and stop moaning unless you underage for a firearms licence . Really ,,, lmao. Pretty standard with anything like this is it not

    Seems like the person is just asking why and if it changed.


    It's most likely just for analytics and working out trends of who's using what.
    Would be quite interesting to see if the average age of back country hut users and hunters has changed much

    I'd never get a permit if that was the case.

    I guess DOB is just to verify your age be it 5 or 555

    They require your firearm license number which should be sufficient verification, after all this has been verified by the NZ Police.

    Im going with the STATS side of it, however when renewing your permit they ask for permit number and DOB so they bring your details up. Just because you give a firearms number does'nt mean their system is linked to know all the details of that number??

    Just as an off side........dont we have to put DOB in to sign up here??

    Pretty sure it's just to identify which Joe Smith you are... The 57 year old one as opposed to the 19 year old one who lives down the road... Nothing to get paranoid about.. They aren't about to hack your fb and bank acc details...
