Hey team
Might be a bit late to get any advice but drew the Donald River, Block 34 up the head of the Waiatoto in Haast.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with the block they'd be willing to share, waste of time, camp sites, good hunting areas, flood areas, walking further into the head which changes to the wilderness area?

Yes we have been there. 2 campsites from memory that helicopter guys drop off at. We were at the one downstream on the true right of river and hunted mainly on true right due to the river being up most of the time we were there. Reasonable deer numbers but you will need to work for them. Quite a few big slips that are worth checking out. We managed a good 13 pointer and an old 11 pointer. Awesome place. Good luck!
Awesome, thanks Ed thats good to know! I see there is two designated landing sites on the roar maps now that I look again. Looks like some decent country and only three of us in there so hopefully a bit of room to spread out and cover the country!
