Sounds perfectly right to pay a fee for a service and to have the official score on a score sheet I would go $100
Mathias,
I’m also an accredited Measurer. We (my ADA branch) charge our members $10 and non members $50.
We only charge members to raise a bit of loot for the branch and to discourage them wanting a heap of shit heads being scored.

Was prob Dave lol
Talking about scoring heads. I have a bit of an odd trophy stag I shot back in 2019 (weird throwback tine on it) that I wouldn't mind scored. Its my only head I would consider a true trophy. Not going to break into any 300+ scores but is a representative South Westland stag. I am based in chch but travel around a fair bit. Anyone local, that would be able to score it. As has been mentioned. Happy to pay $50 or a box of beer. Would upload a photo of it but always struggled to work out how to do that easily.
Agree with the comments that it is a skill and should be payed for as such
I think it would be reasonable to pay $50-$100 to get a head scored, id like to get my first chammy buck scored, its no record breaker but would be cool to have a official score

Thanks to all those who replied etc. Its been a discussion topic among qualified measurers for sometime and to put it out in the hunting arena for feedback is the right thing to do. My two mates from Tassie work on the same basis as what @Dicko explained, which must be across the board in the ADA.
Moving on from here, if any of you really want to learn the basics of the Douglas Score, I suggest you put forward your interest at your local NZDA. At times the branches run training days, where an introduction to DS is conducted and generally a Level 1 certificate is presented to those who pass showing and demonstrating the necessary skill learnt on the day. Though this certificate doesn't make you an official scorer with the level to offer your services, it gives you an understanding of the process. Douglas Score is a system that requires regular use, with the old saying, use it or lose it applying. We have trained many Level 1 people over the years and many wouldn't pass again if asked to demonstrate their learnt skill from years gone by, essentially making their certificate redundant and void. They simply liked the idea of it but never applied themselves to further their interests.
Thanks again people, happy hunting....
