    Fallow Stag Calling

Been reading up a bit about Fallow Stag calling in the roar. Seems its not the thing to do and basically you have to sneak in on them roaring and avoid detection from does and younger satellite stags. When you've confidently crossed this line of defence you can bang two antlers together and draw it in mimicking two stags battling, but this has mixed results apparently. Was thinking of buying a Fallow card for the AJ caller which has the stag croak and doe call, but might just stick to the Sika and Red cards. Your thoughts?

Dont waste your money. Do exactly as you have just stated, just sneak in, they are well occupied with trying to chat up their young ladies they are keeping company with to allow it. Fallow "roar" to attract and turn ladies on, not to challenge other males... You will just attract young or smaller bucks that are trying to sneak a sneaky root in before the dominant boy discovers them...

Well that confirms my suspicions then. Sneaky, sneaky is the way to go. See how I go this year and will report back.

A red male deer older than 5 years is deemed a ''hart''. Guess I'll be 'hart' hunting too this roar.
