    Fiordland lakes advice

Been years since I've hunted them . Keen to take a week and take boat down and shoot a deer and fly fish . Want to take my dog . Is there anywhere I can get away with a dog ? . I remember seeing keen as types with deer dogs when I used to hunt down there . Also spot lighting was a national pastime too back then . Advice pls

Fiordland NP is no dogs "officially" as far as i'm aware, but have seen the odd one in places.

I seem to recall you can take dogs into Waitutu though?

Yep, from memory Snowden forest has some ok hunting in it. But you can't go in there during lambing because of a certain old prick, part of him putting the Anglers access in.

Mavora lakes is sweet as for dogs as far as I know, and some good chamios numbers. Also some fallow there.

Plus you've got a lake there for a fish, although I'm not sure what the fishing is like.

Eyre mountains just up around the corner also.

Only a few dogs allowed in the FNP, they have to be approved and there is a limit on how many can be approved (something like 10 dogs max).
