First goat!
Been meaning to post this up for a while. I got my first goat, followed by my second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh! Not the most challenging of hunting, but we still had to find them and walk up a bloody big hill. I'm pretty happy!
Big thanks to @Taff for guidance, rifle and animal preparation, and bowling over the two stragglers from the group.
We kept the smaller animals and I've roasted up a leg in a Mediterranean-style marinade. It was very good

Stinky bloody things, I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to get the smell out of laundry and kitchen, missus can still smell it somewhere

Haha! It wasn't too bad, anything is better than hare guts

Looks like you flicked the goat stuffer upper to full auto!!, what cal?, looks like the goats hate it. I`v got a spot lined up with some goats to try my Hawken and the Sharps, just to see how a 420gr slug drops them. Great stuff, are you keeping some for dog tucker, Cheers, Homebrew.357.

Calibre was .270. I'm convinced and so were they :)
The ones we didn't eat were sold for dog food.

He he came home yesterday and asked what was for dinner. I get I hope you don't mind I've roasted some more of that goat and I've invited mum and dad over too.
Game set match... From the Auckland girl who a year ago said ewwww goat why did you bring that home!
( well apart from the obvious 'cos no bloody deer wandered thru my cross hairs - she's done well after me subjecting her to my japanese curries to find a French Mediterranean recipe that with a half bottle of white wine makes the legs taste like lamb)

I put half a boned out goat in a pot, with mixed veg and a casserole mix, put on top of the wood burner for 12 hrs cooking slowly, before going to work I said to the misses, put some red wine in after a couple of hours, while eating the casserole which was great I said " how about a glass of that special port I bought, " SILENCE" then those immortal words " I put it in the casserole , it saved opening the wine, :oh noes:
