    First stag

Thought I would share this, shot in the Woods Point area in Victoria on a backpack hunt.I had never shot a stag before, and said to my mate the first thing with bone is going down.I listened to 3 deer munching on blackberries below me but couldn't get a view of them due to the steep gradient and Birgitta of the bushes. Then for some reason I cast my head to the left and saw this fella preaching about 30 metres away.A shot from the 30-06 into his chest and he took off.Caught up with him a short time later and put a finisher in him.

    Well done Joe.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

    24x25,not sure of the spread.

It was going to be hot the next day,so we got to dressing for a shoulder mount before dark, next morning we hiked out and got the head to the taxidermist as quick as we could. In all the time we never ran the lie detector over him,so a few days later I got in contact with Chris and he gave me the size
