    Goat hunting near Palmerston North

    Hi all

I'm wanting to go goat hunting this weekend and was looking at Coppermine Creek near Woodville.
I've seen posts here previously suggesting it, but they were posted in 2013.
I'm wondering if Coppermine is still a valid option and if anyone had any other suggestions in the area for a good goat hunt.
I'm hunting with a compound bow btw.

    Thanks heaps!

If you are based in Wellington the Orongorongo valley is a good starting point, on an overnight trip in June I saw a mob of 12 and 20+ in total for the trip, that was without even actively hunting them.

There are still the occasional goat in the Southern Ruahines but I wouldn't be heading there for a goat hunt.

Didn't really see or hear anything. There was some pretty fresh looking goat tracks on the trail, but little else. Might head further north next time
