Tommy and I were planning a trip to SW Pirongia until we found out cullers were to be operating in there at the same time. I'd say it would still be worth a look if they're finished culling. No one but DOC and the cullers have any info on how successful they were, and the fact that it's just been culled is likely to mean most people won't bother, having assumed cullers have wiped out every last animal. Again, if you don't go, you won't know.
