Thread: Hand plucked possum fur

With a possum control job coming up I was having a look ro see what the fur price was, and found that several of the fur buyers websites say they are only buying machine plucked fur at the moment.
Does anyone know why?

Last time I sold some hand plucked was always worth a little more because plucking machines tended to damage a small amount of fibres.

Ignore the websites, have a talk to your local Basically Bush agent, they may make an exception for you if your possums are predominately
greys. machine pluck the darks.

What r the current prices atm?

Local guy who is into possums stated his buyer will only take machine plucked, buyer stated hand plucked damages the product. Know it's taken a few local kids out of the possum game.
