Hapuakohe report
Hi there - I headed into the hapuakohe range today for a hunt (southern most block) - have a 223, no dogs. Did a six hour round trip to the hapuakohe summit - plenty of browse on coprosma on the way up, a few pig wallows, and goat sign (tree gnawing, pellets, prints) within half a km or so of the top. Spooked one adult goat - white nanny - but it took off at a great rate of knots before I could place a shot. Quite steep in there and sticking to the ridges is the way to go. Probably worth a pig hunt if you have dogs, but will try somewhere else next time. Didn't see any deer sign. PM me if you want to for a hunt there and want more details as to what I found and where. Cheers

Yeah dont think theres many deer in there,
went for a walk a month or so back and all we saw was a few escapee sheep,
Good walk though.

North east of Huntly - it's the range of hills that forms the western edge of the hauraki plains
