Help needed in Twizel - My son…

My son has taken his Hilux for a swim up the Hopkins. He’s limped to Twizel. He’d like to take out his carpets and borrow a dehumidifier.

Anyone in Twizel able to help?

    Thanks

    James is his name. +64 27 357 2992

If he comes home with your daughter tonight, don’t let him stay longer than a couple of nights! ;-)

Didn't they teach the little bugger about rivers last week?

Thanks team, I think we’re sorted. He’s at the local mechanic.

Bit of a common event this time of year up there/Canterbury river due to snow melt and warmer temps. Alot higher river than they would be in winter

Last time I floated (literally) a hilux up there was the time I first met my now wife....she was on the back hitchhiking a ride with her tramping mates we picked up on the road in. Similar time of year and looked alot shallower than it was. Floated approx 50-100m in the dark and then managed to back up a bank. Drove it home on the sunday

Stripped the interior when I got home and cracked the windows slightly for a week

    Great utes the old hilux!

I drowned mine the other week up the avoca. I used one of the portable carpet cleaners oto suck the water out a bit at a time for 2-3 days. I t got most of it then left the windows open a crack for a couple of weeks and all good, except for the alternator, that died
